Tr/tourist Visa

Featured Replies

How many times in a row can I get a 60/90 days tourist visa in Penang/KL/Singapore or wherever?

The guys at Phuket Immigration just told me that they are not sure, about 3 or 4 times...!??

thnks a lot

Seems to depend on local policy.

Not a fixed rule, in general if you can prove you have sufficient funds and do not need to work, you should always be able to get them.

In general, if you want to stay longer a non immigrant is the better option.

Perth in Australia will issue a 1 year non immigrant based on visiting a Thai friend. This will carry you for almost 15 months with a border run every 90 days.

To my understanding - Vientiane, Laos is the only place within SE Asia - still issuing 2 x 60 day Tourist Visa.

But I am certainly not an expert.

so i guess the best way is "just" to call the embassy/consulate in Vientanne and Penang and see what they going to tell me...

I was just talking to a visa specialist from a big international law firm about the tourist visa.

she told me for example in Penang or Vientanne I can get as many tourist visas in a row as I want, there is no limit!

of course this is for now/for the moment, we/you never know, when they going to change regulations again..!

Its always 60 days + option of extention for 30 days at immigration office. (1900 Baht)

That is not true as reports here confirm. Penang has often not been providing a new tourist visa to those with a record of extending the previous visa and Vientiane has been providing red do not come again stamps and is already refusing to issue another tourist visa to some Asian passport holders. It is up to the Consulate.
