Is it possible to go to Koh Samui by boat from Bangkok?

If so, please tell me how and where I need to go to get the boat, how long is the trip and how many baht, and any other useful tips.

As far as I am aware it is not possible . I have been trying to persuade the Seatran people to offer this route as it would be an alternative to the bus and ferry you are offered at the moment. Due to the distance you would need something like a Norh sea ferry to offer entetainment on the journey. As it stands though it is either bus and ferry from Chumphon or train and ferry or fly
