December 22, 200916 yr Hi, time for this girl to go back home to Oz. All things going to plan I will be leaving Bangkok at the end of February or early March at the latest. I want to try and take my Thai BF to Australia for a visit. He has a good job and we have been together for nearly 8 months now. I want to get a one-way ticket, but he will need a return. Does anyone know of any good deals around that time of year. Will we pay more for a one-way ticket. Any advice would be great Andrea
December 22, 200916 yr Author I think Emirates are having a promotion starting in March. thanks for that. I had a look at Emirates but it would only show flights to Sydney. I need to get to Melbourne. For one-way on the 01 March it is 31,135baht, but the return is only 38,420thb. It is probably best for me to use the return.

Coincidentally, I was looking over Tiger flights BKK-PER-BKK for Mar 1st-Mar 7th just two days ago and the return ticket came in under 17,000 tax inc., but I didn't check Melbourne prices, so those might be higher over a longer distance. Just a possible low priced alternative, and I believe you'd be allowed 7kg baggage, with an extra 300-400thb for 15kg of cargo, but there's still quite a lot of savings there if you fancy checking out www.tigerairways.com for a more exact quote for March 1st.
December 23, 200916 yr Try Jet* about 8,000 baht BKK/Tullamarine.. Agreed Jet* are good value. Next best is probably MAS. I flew Jet* in August to Melbourne. Not much pitch int he seat but it's an overnight fight down to Australia and the flight wasn't that full so comfortable enough.
December 26, 200916 yr OK first of all i can`t understand why yu are after a 1 way ticket as i`m sure the immi would want to see a return flight as he is on a visa & yu say he has a good job & maybe yu to so between the both of yu going through the process i find this storie a little strange. & yes yu pay more for one way

I want to get a one-way ticket, but he will need a return In the thread title the OP says she is returning to Australia. The presumption would be she is a citz and is going to live there in the future. Hence a one way ticket. She did state her boyfriend is going to visit and will need a return. Read the thread properly first and you might make fewer embarressing errors. Edited December 27, 200916 yr by Old Croc
January 4, 201016 yr JetstarBKK-MELB 9500 Keep an eye on the jetstar website, or subscribe to their newsletter. They frequently have sales, particularly out of Aus (not so much out of Thailand). But you can buy one way ticket to Aus, then a cheaper one way ticket back. Also Air Asia now fly KL to Melbourne, some seats at attractive prices.

But you can buy one way ticket to Aus, then a cheaper one way ticket back. Also Air Asia now fly KL to Melbourne, some seats at attractive prices. Beware of Jetstar stopovers at Changi etc. for they have a system that differs from those I've had in the past regarding stopovers and cargo. I flew from Perth via Changi to Suvarnabhumi on December 1st, with 20kg of cargo luggage, as I had in the past. At Changi, just enough time to hold that Tiger and take a few photos of the sunrise from Harry's Bar, and get to the departure room to head off to Bangkok, but it was then that I was told that my luggage had gone missing because I was expected to retrieve it at Changi, and then check it in at Changi once again, for some ridiculous reason unbeknowns to me. It was clear from the start that I was flying to Bangkok with only a 90 minutes stopover, so there must be some real clowns working for Jetstar; hopefully not in the cockpits of their planes. I had to wait four hours after arriving at Suvarnabhumi for my 20kg of luggage to be sent on the next flight, which was not much of a welcome back to Thailand. I will never fly Jetstar again after that stuffup which cost me four hours in limbo waiting around and not even a frigging smoking cell for a cigarette. Thanks for nothing, Jetstar.
