Special Visa For Sick/injured?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I went to a visa agent today and asked about visa-runs to laos to get a tourist-visa, anyways this lady tells me she can do a special visa for people who are sick or injured and cant make their trip back home in time,(im healthy and fine and 33 years :) ) and this so called special visa could be 30, 60 or 90 days, and i dont have to leave country to get it, only take 2 photos, give them my passport and pay about 10-12k bht and they fix the rest, ive never heard of this kind of visa, is it some scam or for real? and what if i make it, and then what after those ex 90 days, can i still do visa-runs?

It is a real possibility for sick people to get an extension of stay if they can't travel.

In your case, what is being offered is clearly a fraud. Do not accept these kind of offers, they can cause a lot of problems when found out. Now or later.

You and her are sending your passport on what is called a holiday This is illegal in Thailand. You get caught and you do not pass go, you don't collect 200 baht, you go directly to jail.

There is not such "visa" and I suspect whatever it is would not be a legal visa if obtained is such a manner and could end up with you in trouble and the "agent" disappearing in a cloud of dust.

There is no mentioning of sending the passport abroad. it looks like what is being offered is an extension of stay beased on being sick, maybe through someone at a hospital. Some hopsitals have liasons with immigration as part of their service. It might be that this is being abused.

I previously used such a "passport on Holiday" thing, as I was busy with work at the time, and did not want to stay away too long. Anyhow my Passport was stamped in at Phuket, for a tourist visa at the time, then I changed to Non Immigrant O, I could have been caught but lucky I wasn't. It was from one of those bus people that leave from outside a BTS Station.

Do not do it, if you get caught you are out.

yeah she mentioned something about sending it to immigrations (not abroad) and stuff and that she made many people sick hehe, she was bad at explaining and im a newbie and dunno what to ask, guess ill just go to laos, thanks for the replies

Sorry if this extension gets abused.

As usual it's the people that really needs it that will be affected.

The only thing sick about this - is the agent's suggestion!! It is simply called Fraud - Don't do it - you may get in trouble!!!!
