Woman Assaulted And Robbed By Boyfriend Following Night Of Heavy Drinking

ust after 5.30 on Friday Morning, Police were called to the Weena Guesthouse located on the Pratamnuk Mountain Road following reports of a serious assault and robbery of a woman by her boyfriend. At the scene, Khun Aranyar aged 35 was receiving assistance from medical workers who took her to Hospital suffering from facial injuries and a deep laceration to her head. Inside the rented room number 306, broken glass was strewn across the floor and Khun Aranyar was able to explain that she had spent the night with her brother and his friend, Khun Wisit, who was also in a relationship with the victim. The three had spent the night in a local Karaoke Bar and drank large amounts of alcohol. At the end of the evening the victim and Khun Wisit decided to rent a room at the Guesthouse. When they arrived at the room, Khun Wisit took 200 Baht from the victim’s purse and was told to return the money straight away. He refused and the pair entered into an argument which led to an assault on the victim whereby Khun Wisit used a bottle and smashed it over the head of Khun Aranyar who lost consciousness. Items of value including a 2 Baht weighted gold necklace, 2 mobile phones and a gold ring were stolen. Police are now searching for the suspect who stole a total of around 70,000 Baht’s worth of items.
