Are You Thinking Of Moving From Xp To Linux?

Featured Replies

If you are thinking of moving from XP to Ubuntu this may what you need.

A group in China have just launced a version of Ubuntu that looks exactly like XP!

I am not exactly sure why anybody would want to make Ubuntu look like XP oher than to drive their system administrator nuts or to sell laptops to people that think they my be getting XP with it, but are actually getting Linux, but it does show the amount of customisation you can do with Ubuntu if you try hard enough

Interesting but the review says:

"Initial testing, and the screenshots, would suggest that the OS's GUI (graphical user interface) is purely Chinese too, but if you find out a way to convert it into American/English, let us know!"

Have you installed this and found a way the change it to English?

Impressive...

Putting aside legal issues (if any), you gotta admire the Chinese pirates attention to detail.

Wasn't there a 'Lindows' distribution at some point? Ubuntu looks heaps better than XP, not suprising really given how old XP is now.

I just found the concept interesting but I haven't tried it as I am very happy with the regular Ubuntu Interface, but I am sure it will not be ong before there is a US and maybe even a Thai version.
