Usb Cable For Kindle?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Interesting reading about how other people are fairing with their Kindles over here.

I seem to have lost my USB charger cable. Does anyone know where I am might be able to find a replacement in Bangkok- it seems

to be a proprietary port.

Many thanks for any help!

Simon

Is it not just a MINI usb connector - USB ?

  • 1 month later...

It's European Micro USB (:), same as what's used in Nokia & BB data cables. Micro USB is capable for both data and power delivery. The port itself is a little different from generic "mini" USBs found on most USB cables and they are not interchangeable despite the similar looks.

You can drop by local mobile phone shops and ask for such cables. The (nokia-BB) branded ones are quite expensive but you may as well find some OEM ones at half the price.

kindlethai.com sells Kindle accessories in Thailand but they are often out of USB charger etc.

If you took a USB -> USB Micro cable and plugged it into a battery pack and then plugged that into your Kindle it would probably recharge your kindle. I have a Mobile Juice Pro and I'm sure it can charge my Kindle DX
