How Can We Register A Domain In Thailand?

Featured Replies

For game purposes my son wants to register a domain name and use a hosing service here in Thailand.

His proposed name 'happygta.com' is obviously taken. Can he register under .net which is still available?

It has to be cheap but yet reliable for gaming purposes.

His idea is to use a company like 'ic-myhost.com'........ but I have no idea how to help him since I have no experience about registration and hosing in Thailand.

Can somebody guide us in the right direction please?

Assuming you're looking for a domain suffixed with happygta.com rather than happygta.co.th then I'd hope that the site at Internic might be a good starting point.

Be aware that the .net suffix is meant for Internet-related sites and possibly not all that suitable for a game site, but it seems to be rather open-slather with the coms and orgs and nets nowdays so whatever works works if you can get it.

There are also quite a lot of reputable free hosting sites that could help with something like happygta.netne.net in the way of a free subdomain to link to the webspace - no charge. It's worth having a good look around before you dig out the visa card.

My names are with godaddy.com . no probs reging a .net.

Be aware now that godaddy and domainit.com screw you on the yearly renewals now...... simply greed! :)

So I move them back and forth between the 2.... :D

Thanks for all your input, but it looks like we adults/oldies are a bit too slow.

Just after I posted my cry for help here on TV, my son registered a domain with "chaiyohosting.com" for 450Baht/year for the domain and 99Baht/month for hosting at lowest rate. All paid for for one year.

And it is already registered and up-and-running at happygta.net
