Heading Back To U.s.a - Mundane Phone Advice - Sim Card.

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone out there knows - I have a newish Blackberry phone that's functional in Thailand. I've been away from the US telecom dance for almost a year and a half and was wondering if I could get service in America for this Thai phone using a sim card without signing a contract. Do you know how/where to do it there...and if I need to unlock the phone here or anything?

Thanks. Clueless.

Christopher

check out AT&T "Go-phone" prepaid service.... hopefully your blackberry supports the US GSM frequencies....

I was thinking of moving this to Internet, computers, communication, technology in Thailand as it's not really a visa question.

But then it is about travelling to the USA!

So; I'll leave it here, but you may find you get more responses if you place a post in that other forum as well.

You need to make sure you phone in unlocked and works on the USA networks. I use my phone in Thailand and USA. I have a pre-paid Sim card from T-mobile that I use and can re-fill online, so I keep it up dated not to expire and add cash to hit before I leave Thailand so Im all set to go when I arrive in the USA.

Have a good trip!!!
