Does Higher-Technology ensure Lower-Quality human food?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

As we can see, humans have been worried about buying Rubbish-Food, for years. And, I take this word Rubbish-Food from an educated housewife seen in the following linked video.

Here is a 1975 documentary out of England which proves that the better the technology, the more advanced the ability of unscrupulous food suppliers to supply the public with Fake Food.

In fact, everything seems to be fake, these day….

FAKE FOOD

FAKE NEWS

FAKE AI-SLOP

ETC.,...

Still, it is comforting to know that Rubbish Food is not something new, and that our ancestors also suffered, way back in 1975.

Please enjoy this video, from 1975, which is a real eye-opener.

These days, my main worry is that I might pay good money for adulterated Olive Oil.

The most important question after watching this vid is:

How much can we trust what gets put in our mouths, anyway?

I guess we just cannot win, no matter what we try.

Best regards,

Gamma

Important Note: I think I would love to live at the time when they had milkmaids, because at least we had something nice to look at, while having one’s breakfast.

There is a milkmaid in the linked video.

Very fetching, indeed.

I could name a few things that are never going in my mouth.

They all say that the first time. You'll get used to it. Plus, the money is not so bad.

Yes, for sure... But it's on a sliding scale. Strictly performance based.

Just follow the Blue Zone lifestyle and you'll give yourself the best chance for a long life. As long as humanly possible anyway. Even if you're accessing this forum on the internet in prison, you'll still have commissary so can still be able to know what you're putting in your mouth, and becoming a label reader is easy, as all ingredients must be listed and googling can tell you what they are.

Depends. Can technology re-create the chemical formula of living soil?

Probably not. 👈

This farmer claims to never water his garden (only rainfall) because he has built up layers of decomposing nutrients over 5+ years, commonly known as "living soil" in the gardening community

Belgian farmer says he hasn't watered crops in 26 years as soil constantly remains moist https://share.google/PHP87frbdTan5syey

90% (well probably 95%) of what is sold in supermarkets is processed or ultra-processed kr ap!! I haven't eaten it in years. I prefer fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, organic chicken, fish etc. (Of course, it is virtually impossible to avoid ALL additives, but I try to minimise them).

Ever wondered why Brits complain about the cost of food? Compare the prices of processed vs unprocessed food. Unprocessed fruit and vegs are the same price in the UK as in Thailand. Processed foods are $$$ (I can't do pound signs!).

I enjoy crap food every day and Sweet'n Low in my morning coffees. I would say 70% of my calories come from processed foods amd much of that is ultra processed. What I don't do is consume more calories than my body needs. Pretty simple really but I'm lean and strong and always have been.

Blame is on the person that can't control temptation and becomes a victim.

Technology = inventing chemicals , flavours ,to put in the crap food ,to allegedly

make it taste better , it's all about profit ,it's that simple ..

It is, as it often is, a question of balance — if you cook home you can choose to use lots of original food and reduce the amount of ultra processed remedies and 'fake food' — dining out you can avoid some Westernized fast food chains and instead choose Thai street kitchens, making their meals from real stuff...😋

Or, you can just eat the following:

Two Cans of Tuna per day, packed in water.

Two 5-egg omelettes per day.

Two breasts of chicken per day.
