Police Report For Visa To Another Country

Recommended Posts

Lots of folks make false police reports for their insurance and Thai Police are very hip to this. I saw once couple who spent 8-hours with the police trying to get a report on a stolen camera and laptop (left in Taxi). The police escorted them back to their hotel ans searched their room to make sure the camera/laptop were not ther

Yes....use the search function on TV to find the details, but issued from the BiB in BKK, takes 7 days if you havent been a naughty boy...LOL

Thanks, that sounds good.

I did several searches before posting but could not fhe relevant information. Would appreciate if someone had more information, like where to go in Bangkok and what documents are needed. If it could be done in Pattaya so much better.

As far as I know it can only be done in BKK and the BIB head office, let me have a look and will post the link or info

Make sure that the country requesting the report accept a police report from the country where you live and not from the country you were born. Could save a whole lot of wasted time and effort.

I don't live in the UK but the Brazilian embassy in the UK (where the application could only be made as a UK citizen) would not accept police reports from Houston where I lived for almost 8 years. They only accepted one from the National Police Computer in the UK where I haven't lived since 1979!

I am a Canadian coming to Thailand. I asked my Consulate here about getting a clean record check after I was in Thailand, for work. He told me that I would have to return to Canada and send my prints to the R.C.M.P to have the record check done here. That it was not possible to have it done out of country lets say by your embassy, or a foreign police department.

The police report may have to come from your home country. I understand you are living in Thailand. Here is the scenario for me. A Canadian in Thailand, needs a police, criminal record check for work permit. The criminal background check has to be initiated in Canada, so I have to return to Canada, send my fingerprints to the R.C.M.P. and wait for the record check. I cannot do this in Bangkok or any other country, either through the embassy or the police. Check with the country that you are going to to specify where the check is to be done.
