Drug Addict Admits To Killing His Brother Due To Drug-induced Paranoia

Featured Replies

Just before 6am on Thursday, Police Lieutenant Prasit from Banglamung Police Station was made aware of a case of suspected murder involving two brothers. The Officer began his investigation at Banglamung Hospital where he inspected the body of Khun Sureeyar aged 27. He had sustained a major head trauma and a total of 10 stab wounds to his upper body and was declared dead-on-arrival. Khun Pitak aged 19 witnessed the attack on the victim in Soi Mapsong in Nongprue and claimed that the victim’s older brother was in possession of a long knife and metal pipe which he used to fatally attack his younger brother. A heavily armed Police team went back to the scene of the attack where they found the suspected attacker; Khun Banchar aged 28 who was happy to give himself up. It was determined that the suspect had been an active drug user for 2 years and would often become paranoid about people trying to kill him. On this occasion he was convinced that his younger brother was going to kill him and proceeded to attack him first. Khun Banchar was arrested and charged with murder and remains behind bars pending a court appearance.
