Usb Webcam With Usb Microphone

Featured Replies

I have a monitor with USB webcam and USB microphone build in. If I understand this correctly this means that most of the Realtek sound card settings do not work with the USB microphone.

Are there any tools or settings that I can achieve things like boost, noise suppression, echo cancellation with an USB microphone?

Yes. But :

Is your USB Mic properly detected by the OS ? If yes and assuming u r using Windows then go to :

Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Device -> Audio Tab has Sound Recording. Your USB Mic should be listed it in it.

It works. But not as good as a micro that you plug in into the analog ports. It is to quiet for instance - so a boost would be helpful (like the micro boost for the analog one). I don't evem dream of the other analog functions that Realtek provides for microphones.

But I have learned a lesson - never buy a USB cam with a USB micro. I have a USB cam with analog micro apart from the one in the monitor - no problems at all. Best sound quality even with a Baht 500 no-name product. But perhaps there is a software that can help to improve my USB micro... Would be nice if I could use the one in the monitor. One thing less hanging around at my desktop.
