"Unresolved dependancies" was the message that keeps on coming up.

I NEVER get messages like that on Windows, for all it's other sins.

There is a wonderful linux distro that you *DONT* need to install. It just boots right off of the cd and is fully functional. Can even browse items in NTFS, FAT32, ect... without problems.

There is an option to Nest your special configuration files into the HDD itself or on your USB key that you can take with you anywhere.

All you need is your USB and your Bootdisk and, you can have your own personalized computer experience anywhere in the world.

Ah, yes, dependency ######. Been there, done that. Then I switched to a Debian-based Linux distro instead of an RPM-based distro. Problem fixed. I recommend Libranet, Ubuntu, Kanotix, and Knoppix. In that order.

After 5 years of Linux I made the switch to OS X and a Mac. Got my Unix-based OS and no headaches.

Next time your on linux. Download an RPM named gyum or you could try synaptic. one of these should ease your problem by auto search and resolve dependency issues installing software.

right, this little prog is a wonder!

but still have the option of install with options --force --nodep .. etc ..

console command, get use to it first, then you may play with, even with dependencies and simlinks ... well, linux console.

it may a bit too advanced for a beginners in linux world
