BigBikeBKK
Bakerboy, Spud and yours truly are blasting off tomorrow am at 0700 for the Nan Country Music and Biker Festival! Lot of guys coming from Chiang Mai as well. Looking forward to tearing up some more of Nan's awesome roads! Assuming no mechanical issues or wrong turns it's about an 7-8 hour ride to Nan if we take the same route as last time. Might be fun to take some smaller roads once we reach Pitsanulok- We could cut cut over from Pitsanulok on the 1083 and then ride the fantastic 1243/1162 into Nan Might arrive after dark though... Let's play it by ear and see how it goes. Ride On! Tony

villagefarang
The weather is not what it was. Gone lately are the clear skies and chilly mornings. There has been a bit of a breeze but it is getting pretty warm during the day. It still isn't summer weather yet, so have a good trip.

BigBikeBKK
Cheers from Nan! Wish you were here! Who needs big bikes? Quite the adventure ride! I think I'm going to call it "1243 the WRONG way!" Good fun, though Spud was not too happy at the time on his R1 with shagged rear tire... I think in this picture Bakerboy is trying to convince him not to kill me Ride On! Tony

BigBikeBKK
Poor Spud couldn't join us on Saturday's fantastic ride- Shagged tire... It's the second time he's come to Nan and been unable to ride (Last time was a broken clutch cable... Fortunately Bakerboy was able to get in touch with ShowPow in Bangkok and they sent a new tire up by bus that arrived on Saturday night. Now Spuds trying to find a shop here in Nan that can install the tire on a Sunday morning... Ha ha! Wonder what time we'll get back to Bangkok Edited January 18, 2010 by BigBikeBKK
BigBikeBKK
Ha ha ha!!! Spud and Bakerboy- you guys rock! Fantastic weekend! Agree it should have been longer though! David Unk in the beer drinking contest! Spud enjoying the Leo girls calendar The Thais sure do get into the whole "Cowboys and Indians" thing! I think I'm in love Ha ha ha ha!!! Is it just me or does David look like he's ready to punch somebody out??? Gotta love the Chinese Cowgirls! Lovely! Lena and Tina! 555! Super friendly crowd- many beers consumed! Silly Spud was trying to pretend that he didn't like riding bitch on the back of Bakerboy's VFR... Some more beers and whiskey seemed to break the ice though--- By the end of the night Spud seemed to quite enjoy being Bakerboy's bitch (Wonder what he's whispering into Bakerboy's ear???) 555! Fantastic weekend! ps. I'm still in love! Ha ha ha ha!!!!!!

BigBikeBKK
Getting up on Sunday morning was tough after a late night at the Nan Bike Festival and then more partying at the Veerachon club- wow that place was pumping! An excellent breakfast at HOT BREAD did help take the edge off though David's venerable Africa Twin in front of HOT BREAD- the best breakfast place in Nan, hands down! Finally we hit the road back to Bangkok at 10:30 and we made excellent time- Arrived home just after 5pm. 722km in less than 7 hours- we were FLYING! Just gas and go and an occasional stop for a smoke and a drink. Spud looks like he's about ready to take a nap on the sidewalk Great ride- can't wait for the next one! Happy Trails, Tony

BigBikeBKK
Good one Tony,, so where 2 NEXT? as im back home.... Cheers Marco! Welcome home- we missed you and hope you can join us on the next one. I'll be busy this coming weekend but am up for a ride the following weekend. Need to get some new tires between now and then as my Bridgestone Battlax's are just about shagged. Awesome mileage though- they've givin me over 13,000km! The Dunlops on my old ER6n only lasted about 8000km and I found them quite slippery. What's your vote for the next ride? Maybe we can hit the roads around Loei, Lom Sak and Nakhon Thai? I haven't been there in a while. Any other ideas? Laos? Cambodia? I'm up for anything! Ride On! T
