Complicated Visa Issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have got a question regarding my current Visa. My situation is as followed. I Re-entert Thailand on the 1 of September 2009 with a Visa on arrival (I think there are called Visa Exempt). And I stayed for 15 days, after that i got a NON B Visa from Laos for 3 month. After this 3 month i got a extentsion on my Non b Visa for 7 days. After this seven days I got another 2 Visa Exempt that will expirer on Friday. Now my question is, if i can get another Visa on Exempt if i go to Cambodia on Friday? Because I am under the impresion that i can only have 3 Visa Exempt in 6 month. Or is it maybe possible that i can have another Visa Exempt because i got a NON B Visa Issued between the Visa Exempt?

And also I would like to ask if it is possible to get a Visa Extention on my current Exempt Visa at the Jomtien Immigration? Because i dont have a flight ticket out of Thailand.

I hope somebody can help me with this problem, and I also hope people can understand the Issue because English is not my first language.

Thanks

Michael

There is no restriction on the number of visa exempt entries but after 4 they might ask some questions to determine if you are working here. Are you planning on staying longer that another two weeks? It might be better to visit Vientiane and get a two entry tourist visa there - that would cover almost six months with extensions. I doubt you can obtain another 7 day extension without a ticket out but it really would not make much sense as a border trip at about the same cost would provide 15 days.

Thank you for the quick answer. I am planning of staying longer in Thailand, the problem is at the moment, that the papers for my my NON B Visa are not ready yet, so I have to wait a little while longer. Its a problem from the Law Firm my future employer is using. They never come up with the paperwork in time (what is wired for a law firm anyway). But I think I will do a normal Visa run to Cambodia soon.
