Looking For A Thai Language School

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am looking for a "good" Thai language school and here are some of my considerations:

1. I will need an ED visa through the school

2. I would like a "high quality" of education. I understand that some use the schools for an extended visa that is fine but I really want to learn the language.

3. It seems as though some schools focus on reading/writing and others on conversation. I would like to focus on conversation first and then work into reading/writing. Any opinions about this from others who have studied?

4. Location - I plan on spending time studying at a forest monastery near Surat Thani (Wat Suan Mokkh). Phuket, Ko Samui, Surat Thani seem like natural places to study but I wonder what the options are in these places? I also like ko lanta and hear that there is a language school there. Anyone have experience in any of these places? Alternately Chiang Mai stands out as a place to study.

5. Any opinions about what I might look for in evaluating the courses? Questions to ask? Things to look out for? This is my first foreign language experience and I want to make the most of the opportunity.

Thanks & peace,

-T
