Transport From Trat (koh Chang) To Pattaya

Featured Replies

I'd like to know what's the best means of transport to travel from Koh Chang in Trat to Pattaya? Are there any good links by ferry/boat or by bus? Pls also give me a rough idea of the duration of the journey and the prices. What interests me is the route Koh Chang (Trat) - Pattaya only.Thanks...

didn't understand the 2nd option - you mean to take a SongThaeo to Trat and then take a bus to Chantaburi? pattaya is in chantaburi?close?

thanks

As Carsten said you will probably have to go via Chantaburi, i.e. change buses there. Pattaya isnt in Chantaburi it's in Chonburi province. Or you might also find you have to change buses in Rayong.

It's a bit of a hassle by public bus, far better to just use one of the minibus services that you can book at any tour agent here on Koh Chang unless you want to spend most of the day travelling and hanging around bus stations.

From Laem Ngop ferry terminal to Trat

From the piers in Laem Ngop with the public pickup taxis it's approximately 20 - 30 minutes to Trat.

They are available most of the day.

From Trat to Pattaya

There is only one direct Non A/C bus daily at 7.30 am to Pattaya.

However one can take the A/C- and Non A/C buses bound for Bangkok, get off at the bus station in Chantaburi and travel back to Pattaya from there.

Why not contact a Pattaya based tour company and see if you can book one-way direct to Pattaya with one of their returning mini-buses.

This last advice you better skip-it will only lead to a puzzled response and an answer like this: contact any Koh Chang agent. With just some open eyes and looking at posters/boards you will see that KohChang also has a multitude of busbookers, all quite willing to do that booking.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys...you've been very helpful...looking forward to my 2nd holiday in Thailand and my first time in Koh Chang....we will stay 3 nights there....I've heard of many positive things about Koh Chang...I'm sure we will have a nice time there!! thanks alot and good luck to you all..all the best

very easy , theres a mini bus goes through trat to pattaya like every 30 minutes or so. 440 thb one way. takes roughly 4 hrs. just go to trat bus station. if going from koh chang then all you need do is go to one of the many tour outlets on white sands or bang bao and book your mini bus a day in advance , mini bus usually leave k.c at 6 in morning but can get mini buses at all hours under 12 noon
