for what is worth there are 3 Thai HDTV channels in 1920x1080 .

1. MCOT HD testing on Thaicom 2/5 C band

2. 2 x HD test channels on the Truevisions network - Thaicom 2/5 Ku Band

Unfortunately True don't have the resources to go HD at the moment.

They have 2 x test channels up but i've not seen anything on them as yet.

Hd Broadcast equipment costs a lot more than SD at the moment.

This may change as companies are starting to produce 2 x HD known as 3G.

Not to be confused with telecoms 3G.

Also, set top boxes will have to be replaced and that cost will probably be passed on to end user.

I install HD studios around Europe and Mid. East.

The next step will have to be Asia.

What do you recommend as a HD box?

Preferably with hard disk facilities.

Until the government stops the monopoly held by truevisions on sat service in thailand you will not see much hd. They just dont have the capacity to run hd.

They just dont have the capacity to run hd.

They could have but they would have to pay for it!
