Confused About Settlement Visa

Featured Replies

I got married in Thailand last year, I applied for a Settlement visa which i got last September and she came to the UK. I was going through my wifes paperwork because i want to get her Educated at the local collage, The fees differ because in the passport the Visa type states Visa Spouse/CP. I Thought i had applied for a Settlement visa, which gives her 27 months, to stay in the UK, then take the life in the UK test, So yes she is my spouse but on a settlement visa. or am i wrong, The diffrents between the fee is £700 because they insist she has a spouse visa. Not a settlement visa. OK i know she has no recourse to public funds and i am willing to pay but there seems to be confusion over what type of visa she has.

Yes she is in the UK as Your Spouse. Should the marriage break down then the visa can be withdrawn.

I have just looked at my wife's it is the same as yours.

I managed to get my wife on a Council run course for Free (government funded)

I was told it was only available after she had been in the country one year. They took her maybe to make the numbers up they had to have 10 minimum.

Ask at your local Council Office.
