Lucky Club Security Corruption

I was at Lucky Club, where I go often for some drinks around 3/4 am at night. First time I been there around 8 months ago, am a regular customer.

I was drinking a beer outside of the club while a korean national, drunk and pretty agressive came up to me with his friend and started shouting and showing rude attitudes towards me. Haven drink myself too I shout back at him, he goes away and finally comes back with the security guy of the club and a few of his friends, who pull me up of the bench and push me first to the floor, about 4 of them kicked me on the face and body while I was on the floor. Repeatingly kicking me and trying to keep me on the floor. Have a broken nose, bumps on my head and open skin pretty much on all places of my leggs.

When they finally gave me a chance to stand up they simply escorted me down the street while shouting in Thai at me.

Before I knew I checked my pockets and my wallet and keys (motorbike and home) were out of my pockets, it surely fell out of my pockets while receiving the foot kicks on the floor.

Do you think this is a good excuse for me to get a Thai bank account? Because I can not wait 3 weeks or more for a new ATM card...

Thai tourist police told me a foreigner can open a bank account with any Thai bank. They said my land lord has to write down on a paper and proof that I am living here. With a tourist visa, that would do it, they said.

Is this true?

I been to the tourist police, ofcourse the security guy of Lucky Club doesn't remember anything anymore.

It's a shame there are no surveillance cameras infront of the club.

Its located close to Loy Kroh Road, where the first bars are in the beginning of the street. First soi before Loi Kroy Road.

I have a broken nose, bumps on my head and my legs are open flesh (wounds).

The Lucky Club staff is now claiming I fell on the floor myself.

also, saw a couple people wondering if this is a good pick up joint...it's not. it's basically where you go when the sun is starting to rise. a bunch of leftovers and ladyboys. though they make a dam_n good fried rice on top of the disco if you're drunk and hungry at 6-8am

I am a regular and if security know you, they will always look after you. So I think you're full of shit.

My guess is you acted like a <deleted> somehow, got called out on it and gobbed off.

I would suggest you never go back there. They'll only piss in your drinks from now on anyway.

The Lucky Disco may be one of the most grim and miserable nightspots in Chiang Mai, if not the world, but I've never considered it to be violent. Never felt threatened there by anyone or thing except my own thirst for more alcohol than could be reasonalbly required by anyone. The food on top nearly makes up for the disaster below. But I still try and avoid it unless desperate.

Some people didn't understand my story.

I was quiete drunk but still consciece about what I was doing there, drinking a beer and planning to go home after eaten khao pad.

A Korean guy came out of nowhere, abviously as drunk as me and yelling at me, for no reason. I screamed back at him, he dissapeared and moments later he came back with the security guy (he came from the street so I have no idea what the security guy was doing there) and some friends of the security guy.

They asked me to go because the Korean guy wants to take place, in my drunk language I tried to explain them that I really don't care about him and he can do what he want.

The Thai people then started scream in Thai to me and lifted me up from the bench, I walked towards my motorbike but this was impossible, they pushed me on the floor instead of letting me go, repeatingly kicking me on the face, back and head.

Left me with wounds on my legs, knee, fore head and a half broken nose.

I lived in Chiang Mai before and was a regular in that club, I honestly think nobody ever recognized me here due to the number of foreigners that frequent the club.

Anyway I did recognize them. I have been gone for 4 months, nothing changed except that some regular costumors became staff now. (waiters and dancers inside the club)

My wallet fell out of my pocket, and was taken by one of the security guy's friends or him self.

You can tell me you are or was a regular too in this club, how many times you licked their asses and how many times they squeezed yours, I will still feel dissapointed by the way they threaten caucasians that for some reason get involved in a "mouth fight" with a Korean. I been to many places in asia and i'm not a backpacker type, this means I got a wide budget to take care of myself, and it's the first time to happen to me.

For some reasons I also saw many drunk Koreans arguing with caucasians in the Philippines, now it happened to me.

My friend had the same problem with the same Korean 3 weeks ago in Spicy club.

I also heared from some people that this individual is going to open a bar somewhere near the moat.

Although these places aren't my favourite places to hang out, I feel dissapointed it happened to me.

Can you elaborate on this?

I'll repeat: the staff in Lucky will always look after regulars, in my ten years of knowing them in various incarnations. Ask for Nung or Tan next time you're there and ask for an explanation. Perhaps they'll be able to give you a different perspective on what happened.

Or just avoid the place if you don't feel comfortable there any more.

Fair comment from others though, if you're going to be there late at night either you, the rest, or everyone is going to be fairly pished up. Always a recipe for disaster if you can't maintain jai yen (even if you're in the right).

What I don't like about the security staff who pushed me on the floor and kicked me in the face, is that they claimed to the police that I fell on the floor myself which caused me the broken nose and other injuries on leggs, head and face.

Like I told you before I have been a regular to this club (almost every week a few times) since March 2009.

I have been absent in CM for about 4 months. I recognized them all but seems like they do not recognize their regular clients.

So I have to be a regular costumer for over 10 years to be recognized, common! It's a corrupt place let's face it.

At least at Spicy's the secrity guy including all the waiters recognizes you and salute you with a friendly and trustful "Hello"

Anyway it seems like you all like squeezing the thai men's their asses. Like they are the nicest people around. Right, I been to other countries and this never happened to me.

I think anywhere in the world it isn't a wise thing to scream at someone's face at the exit of a nightclub, especially under the influence of alcohol.

So why say "Never a wise thing to do in Thailand" ofcourse it's not only in Thailand that 2 or 4 men will jump on you, but seems like farang people should take all the shit that asians drop on your head without doing anything back, but you should know that or instead you should be an ignorant person that's only showing that he's a regular to this club for over 10 years. Don't be proud of it, it's only a sleazy thing to show the people. But if you are proud of being a regular to places like Lucky or Spicy for over 10 years, then I strongly support you and hope you will go for another 10 years, if that makes you happy!

It's amazing how some people on this forum will always try to use what you say against you, instead of giving a realistic answer. I can feel the hate and cultural isolation of some people here.

I dont know if that was aimed at anyone in particular, im just laughing because it is truly quite funny. I also read in the thread something about people only going to Lucky's if they are desperate. Seems there are varied levels of desperate that I wasnt aware of.

Anyway, regardless of what the circumstances were, its pretty awful to have a nose broken and whatever. If it happened as you said it did, its truly awful.
