Type O - Then 15 Days - Then 7 - Then What

Featured Replies

Hello.

I'm after some advice on what my options are at this stage.

Ive used up a 1 year type O visa, that's expired and I have just been granted a 15 day extension as i went via bus to Satun and did a quick border hop into Malaysia.

The official has said that I can now get a 7 day extension when my 15 days is up.

My question is, can I do anything else to stay in the country longer. Someone has mentioned to me that if I leave the country and fly back in I might get a 30 day visa on arrival. I'm not 100% sure that this is correct, if it is , am I restricted to certain airports ? If its not, do I have to stay out of the country for a certain period of time before I can come back in, or go to certain places to apply ?

Many thanks for any advice.

Jon

( Im from the Uk and 30 ).

You can obtain visa exempt entry for 15 days with a land crossing or 30 days by air and there is no restriction on the number of times you can do that. You can obtain a tourist visa most places and a two entry tourist visa in Vientiane.

The Visa's are free of charge at the moment.

Great,

so I can just keep jumping across the border and get 15 days each time. A bit of a journey but that's handy as I only need a little bit more time.

Many thanks for your replies.
