Can anyone reccomend a decent and reliable curtain maker in the Pattaya area ?

The best place to use is Wattanaporn Curtain Co in Nakula. Take the Nakula road north from the dolphin roundabout for about 3 kms. When the road turns right towards the market they are on the left a couple of hundred meters up the road. Make sure you speak to the old man as the girls don't know too much English. Tel 038 225221

As far as 3g - I use Hutch telecom next to Tukcom on Pattaya road south. Their service has been reliable if not super fast for 1k baht month. You will have to check if they cover your area.

Rather than the one on Thepprasit, opposite Soi-8...

I'd highly recommend that you go to Asia Curtains, which is about 100-meters up Soi-8, from Thepprasit, on the right.

I've know this family for years, the owner 'Soi' has over 20-years in the business.

She worked in BKK for years, then Pattaya Decor for years before opening her own small family run shop.

She had made curtains and done upholstery work for many of the hotels, restaurants, businesses,

as well as many folks I've referred to the shop. She doesn't advertise, her business is referral.

FWIW...when working to Pattaya Decor, she was the only seamstress allowed to make the silk curtains

for the Kings yacht! 'Soi' has and can make exotic and upscale style curtains, like Louis XIV styles, etc.

The shop also does work for other curtain shops which have jobs beyond their skill levels.

And, the shop's prices are very competitive when comparing like fabric and accessories to other shops!

When shopping for curtains, you major cost is the fabric, type of curtain rods and style curtains; labor is minimal.

Several on Thepprasit - as the replies above show.

Please be warned that whichever one you go to, you should make sure that they cut the cloth to 1 1/2 times the opening you require. If you do not emphasise this, you will have curtains that have no pleats in when closed, just flat across the windows.

This is common in many countries, the Western-style with additional material included is not the norm in SE Asia or the Middle East. So, if your windows are 2.0m across, you need at least three metres width to have nice-looking curtains.

This also applies if they come round to measure up - make sure they include the extra.

for example, my curtains have a connected wave of 3 steps,

that means, for a window of 3 meter, I need 9 meter.

Also the thai calculation is not based on m2, but on 90 cm x 90 cm.

The material price is starting with about 250 Baht per unit (for Thai Production),

570 Baht per unit for Export Production.
