so do hi have to go bangkok for a RE-ENTRY permit or Ayutthaya its ok

Your extension of stay is from Bangkok so all activities have to be in Bangkok.

Unless I am mistaken (when I hope the visa pundits will step in and correct me :) )

I believe it is where your SCHOOL is located, where you're registered to attend class and NOT where you happen to reside which controls where you go for your 90 day in-country extensions.

I believe early on the Walen School had some people who started attending school in Bangkok but were in reality from Pattaya (so coming up here twice a week to attend class). I remember they too had to get their extensions IN Bangkok.

Once he opened his Pattaya Branch; their registration info was 'transferred' to that school, and they were able to secure their 90 day extensions in Jomtien (Pattaya) Immigrations as well as attend that branch of his school.

I'll be the first to admit some of the immigrations rules at first blush seem a little convoluted. .. BUT they are after all their rules and we can only follow them.
