Visa Collections At Singapore Embassy

Featured Replies

Hi

I am trying to book my return flight from Singapore after collecting my Visa (hopefully!) in the afternoon.

Collections open at 2.00, but I have no idea how much queuing may be involved and how far the trip is back to the airport, bearing in mind that peak traffic might start at 4pm.

My two flight options are 6.30pm or 8.30 pm. As these are international flights, does anyone know if I am taking a risk booking the 6.30pm flight i.e. check in by 5pm.

Can anyone tell me how long it normally takes to collect a Visa in the afternoon and how long it takes to get to the airport from the Thai embassy.

Thanks

Hi,

Traffic in Singapore is generally ok. From Orchard i would say it is around 30 to 45 minutes to airport by taxi. Rush hour starts after 5pm and lasts until 7pm or so.

You need to submit your visa in the morning time and collect the next day afternoon. Should not take more than 1 hour at the embassy even if it is busy.

So yes, if you are at the embassy 2pm and want to catch the 6.30pm flight you need to be in a taxi heading to airport latest at 4.30pm allowing you one hour to get to airport which is plenty in Singapore and then to check in 45 minutes before flight.

No issues at all done this on more than one occassion, and have got the 18:30 flight...picking up your passport is pretty quick and maximum 1 hour to Changi...
