Ed Visa To Work Permit

Featured Replies

Hi everybody

I have a question. I have been offered an internship at a Thai company. My idea is to study some Thai first. So my question is, is it possible to first get an ED visa, because I will attend a Thai language school and later change it into a Non-immigrant B visa to get the needed work permit?

Best regards

Mkstyle

Yes - and it is also possible to study without any special visa.

In general, if you are here on a non immigrant ED, you will later on apply for a work permit, receive the WP3 form, then have to travel to abroad and apply for a non immigrant B visa, return, after which you can receive your work permit.

If you will be getting the visa in your home country, it probably will be easier to apply for a non immigrant B visa straight away, no problems studying while on that visa, and later on the labor department can issue your work permit straight away.
