Me, my wife and my daughter have a Non-Immigrant B Visa with a single entry. I am going to work for a company, but Í still haven´t got the work permit.

My questions is:

1) Can I go to the Embassy in Vietienne to get a new Non-Immigrant B Visa in the passport for all three of os? My wife and daughter cannot go with me right now and stay for a couple of days in Vietienne. We then plan later on at the end of March to take a one-day trip to Vietienne to get the visa-stamp.

2) Do I need a re-entry stamp, before I go the Vietienne?

You will all have to go to get a new visa, they will have to apply in person. You will need a letter (form wp3) from the labour office, stating that you will get a work permit. Without that form you will not get a visa in the region.

You do not need a re-entry permit.

Edit: if your daughter attends school in Thailand and your wife has 500,000 baht on a bank account in Thailand, it might be possible for them to get an extension of stay based on your daughters education. Than you can go alone to get a new visa.

You really will have to travel, all three of you.

You would need the WP3 form, proving that your work permit application has been done, along with another stack of paperwork. Normally your company/employer should know what you need, but better post here to confirm you have everything.

Your wife and child will be able to get a double entry tourist visa, which will see them in Thailand for almost half a year, with one short border run halfway.

Anyway, once your work permit has been issued and you have received a 1 year extension based on employment, your wife and child can piggyback on your extension as your dependents.

If for some reason you do not get a 1 year extension, they will have to do the border runs/visa applications just like you.
