thairhone
Greetings everyone. I am trying to find out how they compute area of a house here in Thailand. In some places it is the heated area of a home, not including carports, decks, and such. I want to build a house with a breezeway, or dog-run as it is known is some places, and wondering if that area is considered living area here. Would one take into account all slab space? Storage rooms? Outside kitchen area? Any info on this would be grand. Thanx. wall-e
offset
My builder considered anything under a roof in his measurements not including the over hang of the roof or the metre of concrete around the walls but using the outside walls or roof supports as his reference points
Rimmer
Built up area with walls and windows is often costed at full price for arguments sake say 10,000 baht a square meter. A walkway or patio deck but with a roof is often costed at half that say 5,000 baht a square meter. Drives and sandwash walkways with no roof around 350 to 500 baht a meter. If I remember stamp patterns on concrete are 450 baht a meter. That's not to say your builder won't have his own way of costing that bears no relationship at all to any of the above Believe I'll also move this to the DIY forum where all the experts hang out.
