The very concept of using a dating site for Thailand is mind boggling. One can only assume that the OP has not met enough Thais to be able to understand who would and who would not use such a site.

I am me .. and using one's best judgement is a good thing. If the OP lives on Mars it wouldn't change the nature of the situation in the least other than importing a mail-order bride to Mars might be a bit more expensive than to Canada If the OP was on Mars it would confirm my assumption that the OP has not met enough Thais to be able to understand who would and who would not use such a site!

I'm waiting for your explanation as to what Thais would and would not use a dating site, and what relevance it is to the OP. Your assumption is that the OP has not met enough Thais, therefor he should do what? I really think your assumption and insinuation is not worth the seconds you have spent to draft this post. Should the OP meet a nice person or a bad person, it still has little to do with how many Thais he has met. At the same time, maybe you've used sites of this nature far more than your post reveals, thus requiring better information/explanation as to what Thais he might meet on there.

Before coming to Thailand I contacted 15 women on a large free dating site, yes free to respond etc. They all were able to write in English and I think read my emails. I will try to make this short. For six months I talked to various women, I even went and purchased a web cam because one asked me to. I am 59 and widowed and looking for someone to settle with here in Thailand.

I would usually ask for the phone number and give them a call after a few emails. To see if we could have some communication. I spent up to 6 months online with some of these women. When I arrived in Bangkok 2 women continued to talk with me. One I realized was on a number of websites although she could speak English as we had talked many times, I decided that she was not for me, telling me she was in debt and not working etc.

One I dated twice and when she realized that she could not have a conversation with me it ended.(I studied Thai Language on the internet for 4 months to allow me to communicate a little with them in their own language.) 13 of the women who were so gung ho to meet me etc. etc. stopped replying to my emails as soon as I arrived in Bangkok. Many of these women lived up country, but that is no excuse as I don't want to settle in Bangkok.

I learned that most of them used someone else to compose and translate the emails, or used personal hand held translators as it became obvious that if they could write and supposedly understand my mail and conversation online, they could not on the phone. I found that many of the women are not at all serious about meeting and put the meetings off indefinitely.

This week one told me that she could not meet until next week as she had to go to a temple to meditate. I dated one here on a Sunday her only day off and she was all smiles, but told me straight out at the start of the date that she could not see me the following Sunday, fine but when I called a week later to talk she refused to answer the phone.

So wasting your time is not something that they think about and I feel that it is more like a childish game for many of them. They have nothing to lose, but I cannot understand what do they think is going to happen when you call and say I'm here now lets get together and it all ends there. I think that many live in a world of dreams, maybe Disneyland..

I am a trim fit man, a gentleman, I always pay for the lunch or coffee etc. and I am well mannered, sex is secondary to finding some one to settle down with. I have been dating a Phillipina woman I met here 2 weeks ago.

Yes. It's Thai slang combining "Abnormal" from English and "Bong baew" (or something like that) which is Thai slang for roughly "cutesy/innocent"

Thai adults are immature and infantile.

Not a racist comment or anything, just the way that they are.

Was at a Uni graduation once, at one of the top Bangkok unis, the grads had just received their BBA, all passing around doraemon keyrings and toys as if they're were 6 years old.

Cute, but worrying that these are the next business generation of Thailand.
