I'm looking for some simple and inexpensive way to do this. Garage band says you just need an adaptor (1/4 in. to 1/8 in, as we would say in the states) and plug your guitar directly into the audio input/mic Have you done this? satisfied with the sound? Is this adaptor available everywhere in BKK? I've looked at Power Buy but they didn't have anything like this.

Others say the signal will be too weak and you need a preamp or possibly some other specialized hardware. If you do this, what do you use? Did you buy it in BKK? Where and for how much?

Best thing is to buy a small sound to USB or Firewire interface, the cheapest I saw was 900 baht (chinese quality)

I used an M-Audio fast track, works fine. (about 4000)
