Stolen Passports With Thai Visa In Penang.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

After getting our passports stolen in Penang by mororcycle thieves snatching my wifes bag which included 2x60 day Visas for Thailand. Thai immigration will not re-issue our 2nd 60 day. So we were given usual 30 day visa on re-entry. Chiang Mai airport immigration officer told us to go to main immigration for Visa extention. No can do they say. Go to Vientiane or cross land crossing twice i,e. Maesai. my question is can anyone tell me if you can do this without problems twice?

Our flights UK are booked for March 30th. Our 1 month takes us to March 4th 2010.

Any info on this would be gatefully received.

Concerned :)

Suspect you actually received a 30 day visa exempt stamp on entry, which is not a visa ... and can only be extended for 7 days and likely requiring sight of air ticket out of the country within that timeframe.

Border run will give you 15 day visa exempt entry at land border crossing, 30 days if arriving by air. 2 back to back land border crossings should not be a problem.
