Question Particle

Featured Replies

Hello all. :)

สวัสดีครับ

I am new here. My Thai is close to 0 but I am curious and want to learn some more.

What is the question particle, which sounds like reui(?)? What's the Thai spelling and how do you normally romanise it? Do you have conventions here about Thai romanisation?

Found it!

It's หรือ (rĕu), also means "or".

It's หรือ (rĕu), also means "or".

this is an example of good romanization. well done, on both notes.

There is also รึ, เหรอ, and หล่อ

Thais are much more likely to use these than หรือ in every day talk. Basically means the same, but adds varying emotions to it.

(ps, not quite sure how to spell the last one . . . it sounds like 'law' spoken fast)
