The Interpretation of Dreams[12] ('Die Traumdeutung'; literally 'dream-interpretation'), first published in 1899 (but dated 1900), by Sigmund Freud

Lofty Principles of Dream Interpretation compiled in the 16th century by Chen Shiyuan

Jung "... convinced that the scope of dream interpretation was larger, reflecting the richness and complexity of the entire unconscious, both personal and collective. Jung believed the psyche to be a self-regulating organism in which conscious attitudes were likely to be compensated for unconsciously (within the dream) by their opposites"

in high school we had a semester of psychoogy and one of the homeworks assignments was to write down our dreams; some peole remember very well what htey dream, others not at all. but if u wake up in the night and write down what u were dreaming, even if in the morning u dont remember, its really cool to read and try to interpret.

i cant think of a single society/culture that doesnt have dream reading/interpretation somewhere ...

anybody remember tevye's dream in 'fiddler on the roof'?

husband wakes in the night after having dreams, usually not good ones and wei phra; if i remember a dream, im asked for numbers, but i dont tend to dream with numbers in them. im not a numbers person.

numerology btw is really really strong here, the kabbalistic version (the one that modonna is in too)... and they also deal with dreams....

its entirely possible that women are more 'open' to dreaming, or willing to deal with their dreaming ?

oh, forgot: joseph dreamt of fat cows and thin cows, and the pharoah dreamt horrible things also....

dont knock dreams

I doubt its unusual dont any of you have the "falling off a cliff" or "I can fly" type dreams," being chased" etc

Hi Yabaaaa, i wasn't talking about this, maybe i didn't explain myself properly, i was talking about the ability to "control" whatever is happening in a dream and create something during that dream just by thinking about it, is it really something so common? i just never found another person telling me about this kind of experience, maybe everybody is doing it without telling others about it? :)

Not very common, but not so unusual too.

I used to have this experience quite often in my teens.

Many people, specially men, don't like to talk about their dreams.
