Laos To Thailand, Border Visa.

Featured Replies

Hi there. I apologise if this is a trivial question but I'm in a huge rush with dates etc and can't find the upto date info anywhere! I'm traveling from Vientiane to Bangkok tomorrow evening but don't currently have a visa for Thailand. Am I right in assuming I can get one for 15days on the border? So far I have had a 30day arrival visa by air for Thailand, which was extended by 60 days in Malaysia, and then a further extension of 30days whilst still in Thailand.

If it is OK for me to aquire one on the border does anyone have any idea of cost? Any help would be fantastic.

Thank you. Pat.

You won't be getting a visa, you will be making a "visa exempt" entry, and will receive a 15 day permission to stay if entering by land.

Ok, thank you.

Just to clarify though, this should be ok for me to obtain even with previous entries into thailand within the last 6months?

Yes, 15 day visa exempt entry at land border crossing ... and is free.

assuming his nationality qualifies...

He left a few days ago.

assuming his nationality qualifies...

He has already had a 30 day visa exempt entry arriving by air, so 15 day visa exempt entry at land border should not be a problem.
