Golden marriage registration certificates were given to 12 couples, who won them in lucky draws.

About 100 couples registered their marriage on a train, the first of its kind at the Hua Lamphong railway station before the train left for the Suansonpradipat station in the resort town of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

In the southern province of Songkhla, ten couples joined the coldest wedding under an ice dome registered at below minus 15 degrees Celcius.

In the northeastern province of Surin, 18 couples married on elephants’ backs while in Prachinburi, a wedding was held for ten elderly couples, whose combined ages are 1,200 years altogether. The oldest bridegroom is 81 years old and his wife is 80 years old.

In the southern province of Trang, 36 couples joined the 14th underwater wedding over weekend. The marriage registration ceremony is held on Saturday under water.

Besides couples, soldiers also joined celebrations on the Valentine’s Day.

In Narathiwat, a soldier wearing an inflatable military uniform presented flowers to motorists, strengthening ties between officials and local resident in this violence plagued province.

Meanwhile, Thai and Cambodian soldiers at Preah Vihear exchanged roses to boost their ties despite ongoing tension between the two countries over the overlapping areas along the border.
