Last year when I would go into the little outhouse where I keep my swimming togs and dry the towel, my mossie zapper would be cracking away like 'Chinese New Year' when I collected my gear, but this year no more than two Zaps a day. I am torn between dissapointment and elation, there are fewer around while I sleep too.

I am in Rajayothin area, could it be that we are getting cleaner or did the unusual rain mean less stagnant water? and we will return to normal shortly? Anyone else noticed this lack of mossies.

Of course, you do know that the word "dearth" means shortage?

If you have a dearth of mossies, I envy you.

Exactly what OP said.

Same here too, a 'dearth' of them luckily!

Ah, a scientific research project can begin, where is 'here' please.

Seems there has been a "crackdown" on Mossies too......

I live in the same area as OP.

Still plenty of the flying fuc_king bastards here.

I have actually come to the conclusion that this might be the reason for why I might have to leave Thailand in the future.

I get an average of 3 bites (or sticks) each day, year around.

I get these little lumps (reactions) on each bite.

The research project won't get far if you can't see where 'here' is.

You are right I never noticed the bits off-post, I see that I have Rachtawee there also so needn't have mentioned it myself; I learn something everyday.

Hilarious! but only because I could have wrote those very words myself. I too would consider leaving just because of the misery they cause me, I too get a raised almost egg like lump for every bite and it itches like a bastard (if ya know what I mean), I too get an average of 3 bites each and every day, indoors and outdoors. I have come to the highly scientific conclusion that these evil little fuc_kers are smart and cunning as foxes! they hide themselves against dark backgrounds and only bite where they know you cant see them...back of the elbows, ankles, back of the neck etc. I just bought me a tennis bat bug zapper for indoors and I laugh like a demented lunatic every time I kill one!!! Bahahahaha
