May 11, 200521 yr IS it possible to get a tourist visa in the bkk indonesian embassy / visa office in one day / a single visit? Are they open on Fridays? ... Thanks people!
May 12, 200521 yr What nationality needs a visa to travel to Indonesia (I mean, one that can't be obtained on arrival)?
May 12, 200521 yr You could only get a visa in Bangkok if you were thai except thais don't need tourist visas in advance for the 30 day period of stay. If you were unlucky enough to be dutch, spanish, irish, belgium then you would have to get one from the embassy in your own country. Most farang countries have to pay for visa on arrival, thais get it free.
May 12, 200521 yr Indonesia changed Visa requirements about one Year ago. For details see ASEAN countries can travel Visa-free, Visa on arrival: VISA on ARRIVAL (VoA) This facility is available for nationals of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America. So, there is quite some countries missing on that list. Myself, carrying an Austrian passport, got my Tourist Visa to Indonesia recently through a Pattaya travel agent. Costs were 2500 Bt, including Visa fee, and it took about one week. Hope that helps! Sunny
May 13, 200521 yr Not correct. I'm Dutch and got the visa in BKK. Not in one day though, takes 3. This rule I understand will change again in June, when some countries like NL will be added to the 30 day VOA list.
