The validity period of the visa, received from a Thai consulate, cannot be extended. The permission to stay, received upon your arrival in Thailand, can be extended at your local immigration office.

If your current permission to stay is an extension of stay from the immigration office for the reason of study, the situation is less clear and I suggest that you contact the immigration office.
