shawndoc
I originally posted this in the travel forum, but never got any responses. Looking for my alternatives to travel between BKK and NST. Are Nok Air and Air Asia the only airlines servicing NST? And can you confirm Nok Air flys to Don Muang while Air Asia flys out of the new airport? What sort of times/prices am I looking at if I take a train or bus?
MickeyM
Related to the first part of your question; Nok and AirAsia flights/airports are as you stated; One-Two-Go airlines also operates a flight two days per week (via Don Mueng) serving NST
shawndoc
Thanks, wasn't aware of One-Two-Go (or that they were even still in business). Anyone ever take the bus/train? For some reason my wife seems to think that's the better option.
outside20
I would recommend the bus over the train. It is quicker and cleaner.
angiud
I would recommend the train over the bus, is safer for you and for your belonging and much more relaxing (specially the 1st class)
South
If you've got plenty of time, the train is a nice way to travel (1st or 2nd class). If time is of an essence, flying only takes an hour or so.
Finlaco
I've never flown to NST. 2 hour pre checkin etc..., and then from airport to town. I've taken the sleeper train and really enjoyed the comfort. Also taken the day train and enjoyed the scenary but time consuming. If going by bus, VIP32 and book a few days inadvanceat the new (2years old) southern bus station nearly 40 minutes by taxi from downtown bkk. Be careful of rush hour traffic. I live near Mor Chit so usually chose the train cos can board near my home. Bus depart around 7 to 9 pm and cos of rush hour one might need to be there circa 5pm hope it helps
