Laos Next Week?

Featured Replies

Hi all,i am going to get a double tourist visa next week... first if i go on weds morning 3rd,pickup thursday 4th afternoon will there be a charge.??

Also a thai going into Laos is there a charge for them to get a laos visa same as the 1500bt for a farang or can they go in for free for a few days??

regards.

Thai visas are still free for a bit, I believe.

You'll pay the baht 1,500, or $35, for your Lao visa.

A Thai WITH a passport, enters Laos for FREE, no visa required. If no passport then needs a Thai BORDER PASS which they can get from the tour agent there at Nong Khai where you catch the van across the bridge. It's probably about baht 100, and they'll need a photo. A BP is free on entry on the Lao side and is restricted to the Vientiane area, it's good for two days and a night, I think, but might be three days and a night, I forget. My wife's been using her passport the last bunch of trips, much handier.
