May already have been mentioned before but .....

Ok, so I might be slow on the take up of some things but it never occurred to me before why I always hear, "OK." as opposed to,"Yes." from a Thai.

Well not until I said, "Yes, please." to her mother today and wondered why I got some strange looks.

Yes means the same as sex in Thai. Sigh. Go figure !! Seems like it is back to "OK" for everything :)

Try pronouncing the 's' and don't speak your own language with a Thai accent.

I know the Thai word which is creating the confusion but I have never had this problem and I doubt that many others have. Perhaps your accent is cutting the word "yes" short and so make an effort to enunciate the 's'.
