The sub-lieutenant accused of laxity said the 23-year-old Thaweesuk Arngbua, who was arrested on March 4 for murder, was in the jail when he had last checked. He said he dozed off and was later woken up by another officer who said the suspect had fled. They found a blue shirt in Thaweesuk's cell and one of the iron bars had been sawed off. -- The Nation 2010-03-07 [newsfooter][/newsfooter]
