If they said they were staying and attending the rallies they would get slated for incitement, they leave the country they get slated. maybe they should just sit at home and wait for the stitch up that will surely follow.

In other words, sit on the bodies of the poor who did the dirty work whilst checking their gucci collection.

And by contrast, there are people like Nelson Mandela, who stayed in his country and spend 27 years in prison for doing what he thought was right against an unfair government.

Surely there must be a large amount of red shirts from last year that just wont turn up for this protest after Thaksin being found guilty and violence last big rally ,cant see it being as big as they are expecting.

How many are they expecting?

It was a million to start with. Then it dropped to 600,000. I think it was 200-300,000 yesterday. And today it's 100,000.

By the end of the week it will be 1000.

Isn't it nearly time for the traditional speech, called-in from Dubai, promising to return to lead the Mongol Hordes peaceful-parade of democratic justice-seekers, should but one single rain-drop fall upon their heads ?

Sadly it just started raining, here in Chiang Mai, oh well ... at least it will wash their pick-ups for free ! :)

This ultra-elite family runs away so their children won't be in danger... leaving it to little guys like this one to fight their battles and risk their precious life. This is a real downside to the brain-washed reds, that this little tyke's parent's could follow Thaksin's earlier encouragement to reds to bring their children the last time.

Thanks for that ridiculous insight from Tony. Saying that they are "Damned if they do, and damned if they don't" isn't accurate. They are damned because their family is financing the poor to fight for them, and they are too cowardly to join them in the fight. Daddy's money buys a lot, and we don't need to get our hands dirty.

Scum.

Just about sums it up SomTum!

Cheers, Rick

There are Lies

Damned Lies

and statistics.

And a new uber-catagory Thaksin Lies

In which it can be assumed most things are

not as the are stated to be anbd never were.

One thing is clear; karmacly this family will be damned for generations,

and will reincarnate as something hoping too find a ride on a cockroach,

if it gets lucky. Maybe just a viral load in the intestines.

In any case finally getting to nirvana will take the max generational cycles.

they will all be sipping champagne somewhere in $500 a night hotel watching the misguided poor of this country going to battle on their behalf

same Shinawatra family, same Shinawatra principles-cowards, thieves and traitors, one and all.

Is this kind of vile rhetoric necessary? It accomplishes nothing except letting you vent at the expense of others.

This is not the kind of civil discourse one would expect from a rational person.

Please tone down your hatred.

Anyway, there supposedly are 22 x 18" trucks heading to the Khon Kaen airport to carry the stash to secretive hiding caves somewhere deep in the remaining 30cm of water in the Mekong.

Hope those 22INCH by 18 INCH trucks can handle the load!

No doubt the cash was transported last week after the court date.

This is just not a rational response. I would hope that you want to insure that your family is also safe. Why would you begrudge any other person of the same concern.

On the other hand if you would not have soncerns for your family it would explain the hatred in your post.

Please control you hatred.

Well Khun James,

I just hope that no blood is spilled this weekend, otherwise he will be responsible for the injured/deceased members of other peoples families, whilst protecting his own family... doesn't that look a little bit like cowardice to you?

Here we go.

If Thaksin walked up to Tony on the street, poked him in the eye and walked away, i have no doubt Tony would come on here and tell us how Thaksin was simply an innocent victim in it all. :)

The man can do no wrong.

it shows how the rich can control the poor! anyone with any sense would be able to see that whilst he uses the poor masses to control the city, he flies his family to safety. Dont know why pojamin is going anywhere though. Thought they were divorced now???!!! Or am i being naieve and that was just a publicity stunt?

The entire family, nothing but cowards.

Easy for Thaksin to tell others to fight and rally while he remains a wanted fugitive in hiding. If this rally is to be so peaceful as claimed, his family should be on the front lines fighting for dear daddy's money and so-called "democracy." Same, shame, shame to the Shinawattra family. Cowards, all of you!

Here we go...

Yeppers, you can tell when the reds plan to go violent by where Thaksin's family is. In Thailand the plan is for relatively peaceful protests and out of Thailand .... :)

This does seem to also explain the meeting Thaksin has had with his chief enforcer, Sae Daeng.

Some commentators should check their hypocrisy. It is no secret that Mr. Thaksin and his estranged family are targets. It makes perfect sense for these people to leave Thailand as the potential for a conflict where civilians are taken hostage or even murderedincreases with each venomous media report. What precautions do you think several cabinet ministers including the PM and military commanders have taken with their own certain vulnerable family members? The Thaksin family doesn't have the luxury of being able to hide out on a military base as some are doing. It makes perfect sense for people at risk to remove their families from the line of fire. The last thing anyone needs is some idiot taking someone hostage and making the situation worse.

What do you think would happen if someone attacked the PM's wife or the ex Mrs. Thaksin? That's how a civil war can start and its avoidable.

It's all very nice to huff and puff and call people cowards, but it is now standard operating practice to undertake these measures. People have convenient memories, but as 9/11 took place and in the days afterward, practically every leader in the western world had made arrangements to move children and spouses out of sight. That procedure continues to this day.

Be fair and do not let your petty hatreds pollute your thoughts.

Have you looked at the history of the movement of the Shinawat clan BEFORE violence breaks out as opposed to when violence does not break out?

A leader leads from the front but Thaksin scurries away and his family scurries away afterwards.

Who is going to being taking the Thaksin's hostage? It's the red shirt Thaksin supporters that are protesting. It's understandable for the government to be protecting their families, since they are the ones that have been threatened.

It's not the PM, the military, or the cabinet members calling for this so-called "peaceful rally." I can hardly blame those who will seek security. On the other hand, with Thaksin calling the shots, he and his family should all be there, "fighting for their rights," with Thaksin in the front. If my memory serves me correctly, he did state that he is willing to die for this cause. Nothing but hot air and lies. If his family is at risk, so be it. He doesn't really care if others families are placed in great danger or risk. If only the "poor" as they prefer to called could see the elite actually exists in their own backyard.

This isn't 9/11 anf Thaksin isn't a "world leader". Thaksin is a convict on the run from justice and not some victim to feel pity for.

Thaksin is the guy behind this movement and his chief enforcer (and Sae Daeng's aides) have been fomenting violence for a long time. Flee the country? Why, if the plan is actually for a peaceful protest! The fact that Thaksin and his family could certainly secure their personal safety anywhere in Thailand is a given. That they run sometimes and not others ... and the times they run in advance there is violence should tell you everything you need to know.

This morning I have send protest letters to political parties in Germany and my own country the Netherlands. About Germany admitting two people and harbouring them while over 10 thousand EU citizens are under threat of harm because of actions of their dad. I wrote that it is in poor taste that the rich kiddies get protected while thier own dad is putting so many EU citizens in potential harms way.

I suggest other people do the same and write to political parties in Germany and their own home countries. You will usually get a reply back acknowledging that they will look into it. And maybe when enough people write some debate about it will start. You might also want to write newspapers back home.
