As much as I know the only way is to go by yourself, travel agency cannot help as in Penang...

Now a question, do you how what kind of tourist visa they deliver? how many entries?

Thanks.

Things have changed a lot in Vientiane last year. It used to be a place with terribly long lines that just were getting worse and worse waiting out in the sun for hours and the possibility of missing the noon cutoff even when flying in early in the morning. And there were the shady locals who owned the turf in front of the consulate that would bring your passport to the window for no less than 1000 baht extra. Thankfully those days are over.

They have a brand new facility far away from the city center. Oddly, there are very few people who show up since the move and the lines are almost non existent. They do have some policy tightening in the tourist visa area. First, they offer single entry only. Second, if you have 4 (or 5?) tourist visa's in your passport already, they will not give you one; this new rule is posted and they are very strict about it. They will instead encourage you to find a more appropriate visa on your own. Some hotels will submit your tourist visa application for a around 300 baht a surcharge. I never had found a hotel that is decent and attractively priced, so no real suggestions in that area.
