I am sure that a 'MFL' (Marry-for-Love) Visa is in the works at the MoFA with no Work Permit required to set-up a business to support you and your true love -- no pesky reporting or 90 day exit requirements necessary... no repatriation to Tulsa.

I apologize to the OP that I do not have any first-hand experience to give him regarding visa arrangements and concomitant extensions based on 'true love' as all my relationships here in Thailand have been based solely on sex, money, and contrivance.

I will post anywhere I dam_n well feel like it. There are many sensible persons on this Forum who are trying to seek real world solutions to similar problems without the nonsense of their opinion as to what government regulations you consider to be a bunch of bull for persons who really love each other as if you are somehow unique in that arena.

You have tried the patience of many who have attempted to assist you including the immensely tolerant Kuhn L. who said that everything you sugggest is illegal and that "I give up." (Post #27)

So if you want to really solve your problems, hire an Immigration attorney with whom you can disagree but you will be charged the hourly rate for your belligerence.

Jazzbo my post on multiple 0 visa and work permit is legit. plenty of time to save money in Thailand. I understand everything now... nothing wrong in being confused about something you don't know. Also I have the freedom to express my feelings on how much I hate money. You don't need money to live your dreams. Nothing can stop you from living your dreams. Either you let go of the past posts or just go away. It would be nice If I could delete posts and clean up this topic... :-D 55555555555

Ahh, you will need money if you plan to live your dream in Thailand. I hope things are becoming more clear to you OP, like an awakening?

This is an open forum not under your personal control as to what you can delete or clean up ... that is called your blog. Anybody has a right to post here under while mindful of forum rules. You have the right to ignore a post by anyone but telling someone to go away is just bad net manners...

You just cannot decide to get a work permit: You either have to start your own corporation in Thailand or find an existing corporation willing to hire you. At least for someone without a work permit or ED Visa and under age 50 married or otherwise it does take money to live your dreams in LOS... and the MoFA, Ministry of Immigration and the Ministry of Labour have very specific rules that apply to regular persons and those in true love just the same... deciding that those rules are bullsh-t is not helpful to anyone especially yourself.

As noted above, Kuhn L. -- who has repeatedly shown the patience to explain complex Visa and Immigration regulations even to the village idiot -- gave up on you.

I already know that I need a job to get a work permit silly. I will get the multiple O visa and get married in Thailand. I will hopefully have a job lined up with a Thai company. I will also be getting an income from America. The wedding will be in September. She will also have a job in Tourism. She has already started doing jobs in Rome. I have been patient and read all the posts. I took them all to heart. I just don't like negative people posting dumb stuff. You don't need money to live your dreams. Why does everyone think that? You can do whatever you want in life. If you want to go to the moon then why wait? You say its too expensive and I can't go. Well figure out a way to do it. Money is just an object and shouldn't stop you from living your dreams. Anyways thank you all for your posts. This topic is now closed................

Sorry OP but one cannot help laughing when reading your posts. People are not trying to be negative towards, you and the only dumb stuff that has been posted has been from you (no offense).

What posters here are trying to do is to give you a sense of reality. Thailand may be cheap by your standards back in the states, but you need money to live here. Unlike a person immigrating to the US where you get a whole host of public assistance, here in LOS you are on your own, with no assistance. Foreigners pay for everything, and if you cannot afford to then it is just a matter of time before you will find yourself back at the airport on the next flight home, so to say that you do not need money to live your dream is fairy tale talk, and not reality.

Look at the second sentence you wrote "I will get the multiple O visa and get married in Thailand". Are you sure that you have been patient and read all posts? You need to be married BEFORE applying for a Non O based on marriage. You sure as hel_l do not meet the requirement for retirement. Again, I would suggest that you do more research.

BTW: If you want the topic closed just contact any MOD and they will close it for you. I agree that no one here can be of anymore help, as one needs to be open to suggestion first.

I wish Kuhn K. and his fiancée good luck... My main concern here, and maybe with some caustic humor, is that there are many non-Thais here in Thailand -- some already married with families and who have based their stays upon previous regulations -- who are desperate to find any legitimate reason to maintain their stay in LOS. Some of them may enter this topic mid-stream and read some of the suppositions herein and think that they are reading fact... not someone's idea of the way they think things should be...

There are ways to work with the Visa and Immigration laws as they are; to do so requires patience and an attitude that one must accommodate one's circumstances to those regs, not the other way around.

If I were in the OP's circumstances I would consider having my fiancée write an invitation letter with copy of her ID and then go to Perth, Australia for the first few years and get a 'visiting friends or family' 'O' Visa until things were settled -- no need for jobs or work permits or marriage extensions or 40K per month, etc. Plenty of guys are doing that...

Nice to see that you have a plan. You may want to think about bringing a little more than $5,000 USD if you are planning on living here. You cannot just "apply" for a WP. You need a job first, and the employer applies for you.

Well I though I would give everyone a heads up. My uncle has a friend that was a missionary for our church in Thailand and he has a friend currently living in Thailand and he is American. He works at the TEFL International school in Ban Phen, Thailand near Chon Buri. I will start school there in October to become an English teacher. My fiance is looking for work in Chon Bori and we are moving there in October. We will be staying at this guys fiances basement for 2000 baht a month (wow that's cheap). I fly to Thailand September 12 and then I get married to my thirak (fiance) September 28 in Hong Kong, China. Then we move to Ban Phen, Thailand and I start school. Thanks everyone for your help :) Looks like I will be living my dreams soon in Thailand. I will also start my computer repair business and teach English. I will keep you all posted on how everything goes when I get there.

This is monsoon country, not Utah, and a basement is not normally constructed for homes. They are built on piles and beams at or above ground level due to the flooding. Expect such living would not be very pleasant here.

Once again now!

Matilda, Matilda, Matilda, she take me money and run Venezuela.

Five (thousand) dollars, friends, I lost...

Well, the money was to buy me house an' lan'

Then she got a serious plan ...

Well, the money was just inside me bed,

Stuck up in a pillow beneath me head.

Don't you know,

Matilda, she found me money and...

Everybody...

Is the wedding still on?

Hong Kong or Thailand?

OP, did you get a visa ok?

Looking forward to an update.

We got sealed in the Hong Kong Temple. I'm living in Thailand and I love it here. I have lived here for about 9 months now. I have a one year non-B visa and work permit. I work at a Thai government school in Mahasarakham. Soon I will have a beautiful daughter named Sharone. We just bought a new Nissan March. We are also starting a new business soon in Mahasarakham. I really like living in this Isan village. My meamoo and phormoo are great parents. Me and my wife are planning on moving to America in 5 years. Since I have lived here in Thailand I've noticed that it's hard to live here. I was planning on staying here forever... but I don't like the education system here. We want our daughter and future children to have a better education. When our baby turns 4-5 years old she will start school in America. We will come back to Thailand when we are older and retire. Thailand is a beautiful country and I hope Thailand will see how lucky they are to live here. I love teaching English at the school. It feels great to be an example to them. I asked the Farangs why they live in Thailand. Many of them just want to get away from their problems. Then I noticed something and said, I know why we stay in Thailand. When I look at these children... I want them to have a better future. If I can change just one students ideas and goals in life. I would be the happiest person in the world. I want to help these kids because they are the future of Thailand. I'm so grateful for my wonderful thirak. She is a great palaya and thank you everyone for your comments. With God you can do anything. Don't be scared to follow your dreams. Just do it!
