March 14, 201016 yr I have bricked my wrt350n linksys router. By now I am pretty sure the only way to revive it is by soldering a 12 pin header on it's pcb, create a jtag cable, connect the router on to my pc's parallel-port and run some software on it. Today I will go to the amorn shop to see if they sell the needed 'ingredients' (resistors, 2 x 6 pins header, ...). I have the schematics to create the jtag cable. Can someone recommend me a person with experience soldering electronics around Pattaya?
March 14, 201016 yr What do you mean by "bricked"? Did you: 1] hit it with a brick? 2] tie a brick to it & throw it in the river? 3] use it as a brick in your new DIY outdoor bbq? Edited March 14, 201016 yr by elkangorito
March 14, 201016 yr it's a term used in electronic when a device being broken has no other use than a brick, this is usually related to bad firmware upgrade.
March 14, 201016 yr Amorn shop usually have components and soldering irons for sale, even a repair shop that can probably do it for you if you need them to. If they don't have the parts there is another shop out on Thepprasit road that generally have all sorts of electronics stuff. It's a little difficult to find, they have no name on the shop but it's on the same side as the gas stations, from there about 10 shops towards the beach. They usually have radio gear in the shop window and it's usually full of Thai's buying electronics gear.
March 15, 201016 yr You may also give Wattana on Pattaya klang a try. They have a service and repair shop

March 16, 201016 yr Take your schematic and parts to one of the cell phone repair guys and have him do if for you. I did something similar with different device and guy did good job on board that had micro size solder pads and only cost me 200 baht.
