Immigration/chaing Wattana--open Monday?

Featured Replies

Has any body heard any indication whether or no Immigration might be closed Monday, 15/3???

Any demonstrations announced or threatened in the Chang Wattana area???

I live along Jaengwhattana and can see most of the government complex including immigration. It's been very quiet and I have seen no activity through Sunday. I would guess immigation will be open tomorrow.

I have followed all updates on the red-shirt rally situation and seen no announcement of a protest in Chaeng Watthana, nor have there been any reports of any government office closing on Monday.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I was looking at the map last night, contemplating a trip to Immigration today. I think things might get more interesting in that area around noon if the protesters make good on their promise to march up to the 11th Infantry Regiment headquarters, which is not too far away.

Actually it is a good distance away and should not be a problem unless they specifically decide to target.

Where exactly is the 11th infantry division? Is this the base that is close to the Laksi monument - on Pahonyothin Road, if you were driving from Laksi monument to Kasetsart?

Yes that is it.
