Security Holes In Mac Os X 10.4

Apple Computer Inc. has quietly patched several security holes in Mac OS X 10.4, also known as "Tiger," including one that allows potentially malicious widgets to be downloaded and installed into Dashboard.

The security patches were released as part of an OS X 10.4.1 update earlier this week, but the company has only just released details of them. The update patches four security holes, the most well-known of which is the problem where widgets—small applications working in the software's Dashboard system—could be downloaded and installed without any specific user confirmation. Under 10.4.1, automatic installation of Widgets is blocked, and users must specifically approve the installation of each Widget.

Hi!

Just to give You some suggestions, I can say that Tiger is not complete yet. When a New Apple System like OSX is released, untill the update like 10.3.5,10.4.5, the version is on evaluation. Actually Tiger contain a lot of holes and bugs.

If You're using Your Apple Cpu for professional use, the best suggestion I can give You is to use Panther 10.3.9 untill 10.4.5 arrives to be protect from Linux hackers.

I'm certified Technician for Apple Canada and knows what's going on with Tiger actually.

A lot of Linux users are creating bad directory files and ,components to cause troubles for OSX users.

We still free of viruses but not for bugs!

The safiest OSX system actually is Jaguar with all updates but some recent applications require minimum 10.3.0.

Panther 10.3.9 still and will always stay risky about Linux files but with a Disk Image of Your Hard Disk, that's the good way to use at the maximum OSX.

I hope that these infos will guide You to enjoy OSX!

If you're looking for other infos about OSX, I can help on that!

Peace!
