haroldc
A Thai friend got into trouble and is in the Pathumthani Prison on Rangsit-Nakornnayok Road. Can anyone tell me how to get there by public transportation? Someone said to take the train from Hua Lampong to Rangsit, and then go by taxi. Is this correct? I appreciate any assistance. matthiasvk
You can take bus 538 going from Victory Monument to Klong 6 (Rajmonkol). 20 baht Get off at Klong 5 and then take the motorcycle taxi. Or you could take any of the buses/vans to Rangsit (Future Park), and get a taxi from there. It would cost you about 100 baht one way from Rangsit to Klong 5. Hope this helps,
Thanyaburi Mac
Did your Thai friend tell you exactly which "prison" he's in, there's a couple out this way between Klongs 5 & 6. At least one for druggies. Then there's temporary detention before going to the court, which is right at Klong 6, just after the hospital. There's also a couple of detention centers on the Klong 5 road. Be best if you can get the name written down in Thai. In addition to the #538 bus, there's vans from Victory Monument that go to Future Park Rangsit and vans there that head out on Hwy 305 to Thanyaburi, which is where the various hoosegows between Klongs 5 & 6. haroldc
Thank you all very much for your assistance. I called the Pathumthani Detention Center (Department of Corrections) and verified where my friend was being held, as there are indeed a number of different prisons / detention centers in the same area. They were very sympathetic and helpful. If anyone should find themselves in a similar situation, the telephone number is 02-577-1794. So I will go visit my friend tomorrow morning.
