triffid
I've been looking high and low for a replacement for my earthenware bread crock - whose lid I dropped and broke. Couldn't find one in Chaingmai. I tried a wood container with a lid (sold in Index) which is apparently meant for rice. It doesn't really work, ie keep the bread from going stale too quickly - as well as the usual earthenware or tin ones do. Has anyone seen a bread bin being sold anywhere in Bangkok? fredob43
If it cut bread freeze it. If not cut it then freeze it. With the heat over here within three min ready to eat Bingo.
roiethome
I have always kept bread in the refrigerator here. If you want to use for sandwiches, it only takes a few minutes to recover back to room temperature.
Musongman
Are bread crocks suitable for Thailand?
triffid
The thinking seems to be that in Thailand it's best to keep bread in the fridge. I'm not sure why Musongman thinks a bread crock/bin is unsuitable in Thailand. I buy unsliced sour dough loaf (or something similar) not the typical white sliced loaf; and I don't want it to lose its moisture in the fridge. Maybe I'll try keeping it in the fridge but wrapped in a plastic bag. Though I'll probably still look for a bread bin in Bkk next time I'm there.
